Imagine yourself shoulder deep in a large heated pool, holding a dog, suspended in water. You guide the dog’s body in your arms in large, sweeping movements across the surface of the water. You watch the ripples on the surface. You feel how the water drags and drifts the dog’s coat and body. Imagine the dynamics, flexibility, and therapeutic value that this dog is getting while being moved about in the warm, non-weight bearing, water.
In your hands, the dog relaxes. As you move, integumentary (skin and coat) and musculoskeletal structures float into and away from each other. Restrictions from holding patterns release. Alternative and integrative neuromuscular systems engage.
The PetMassage Canine Aquatic Massage is a hands-on workshop in which students learn the theory, vocabulary, and skills of applying PetMassage™ techniques with dogs in a heated swimming pool. When your dog experiences his body WaterWorking, it is joyful, relaxing, rejuvenating, rebalancing, reconditioning, resoundingly and amazingly therapeutic and beneficial. These same descriptive terms describe the experience of the PetMassage Canine Aquatic Massage Practitioner. This is PetMassage Canine Aquatic Massage!
This 4-day hands-on off-site program runs Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM and is designed to get you abundant experience working with a large variety of dogs in the water.
This program travels to host locations throughout the US and enables students to learn an exciting new way to practice PetMassage™ techniques with the benefits of water massage sessions.
PetMassage Canine Aquatic Massage Advanced
This workshop is designed to expand your skill set, confidence, and comfort working with dogs in warm water.
Course content is focused on
- incorporating dry PetMassage skills and techniques to dogs in the water
- advanced elements, sequences and protocols
- form refinement
- body mechanics refinement
- and experiencing the joy of working with dogs and advanced level fellow colleagues in and with the water.
This 2-day hands-on workshop runs Friday and Saturday, following the Level 1 workshop. 9 AM to 4 PM.
Prerequisites: completion of The PetMassage Canine Aquatic Massage program or any accredited canine water massage course.
