Water babies
Many of us are water babies. I’m not just referring to people who were born in hot tubs ala French obstetrician Frédérick Leboyer; or water-birth in bathtubs with the advice, consent, and support of doulas and midwives. And I’m not limiting water babies to those born under the water signs of scorpio, pisces and cancer.
What a Glorious Feeling, I’m Dripping Again
I’m referring to everyone who loves being in water. Do you find pleasure and a sense of restoration and healing swimming, diving, or simply soaking in your bath? How about walking in the rain? How about standing in the shower with the steaming hot water massaging your head and back?
Essential for Life and Living
We need water to survive. We drink it, cook with it, clean with it, bathe in it, fish in it, irrigate our crops with it, and play in it. 90% of all people on earth live within 10 kilometers of water. 50% live within 3 kilometers. We intuitively stay as close as possible to it. I think of the many couples on HGTV’s House Hunters who gaze out the waterfront window or deck and exclaim “That’s a million dollar view.”
Since the dawn of civilization, people and animals have been using the healing properties of water for therapeutic restoration and rehabilitation. We have historically accepted that we go to water to heal.
Imagine All The People
Think about the documentaries on migration patterns of animals in draught stricken Africa. Think about the images of professional athletes rehabbing their bodies in tubs of icy water. Think about the relaxing time spent in hot tub jacuzzis with jets of hotter massaging currents.
Help Dogs With Aquatic Water Massage
This therapeutic modality, based loosely on Watsu, is so helpful for dogs! It is very different from the experience of dry massage or underwater treadmill work. And since it is only done in a heated swimming pool, it is safe, clean, and controlled. We encourage you to offer this amazing service in your region.
