Learn the skills to PetMassage your own dogs at home, invest in your professional development by becoming a Certified PetMassage Practitioner.

Overview:

PetMassage is a hands-on skill. As such, it is best-learned one-on-one with an instructor. PetMassage with dogs requires an array of skills and a specific body of knowledge. PetMassage instruction moves the student beyond the basic skills of massage and incorporates aspects of canine psycho-social behavior, dog handling, Eastern and Western veterinary medical practices, alternative and integrative animal care practices, including healing touch, polarity, animal communication, and the philosophies of Yoga, Tai Chi, and Chi Gung.

The workshop format: instructors discuss, demonstrate, and then work with you as you return-demonstrate your understanding and delivery of PetMassage theory and techniques, energy and body mechanics. You will have ample opportunity for private instructions as you practice your new skills with a wide variety of dogs.

All workshops are held at the PetMassage, Ltd. School in Toledo, Ohio. Workshops are scheduled, February – November. Students must be present for the entire workshop. Students who choose to leave early will be ineligible for certification.

Workshops have small classes – between four and ten students. Lectures and demonstrations use live dogs, models, supporting texts and the workshop manual.

Students are encouraged to bring dogs. In fact, when you bring 2 or more dogs, we will take $25 off your workshop course fee. If you are unable to bring your own dog, canine volunteers are provided. Please only bring crate trained dogs.
